Concept
Shanghai Club is our re-interpretation of the original 'Paris of the East'. Through the 1930's Shanghai enjoyed the reputation of being a glamorous, eclectic social melting pot of British, Russian, French traders and colonists along with local Chinese socialites. Opium dens, hip bars, restaurants and clubs — jazz drifting from open windows, silk and smoke curling through the streets, and strangers from every corner of the world sharing a table and a strong drink. It was a city that blurred every line it crossed: East and West, high society and low, tradition and reinvention.
Our vibe is one of warm dimly lit comfort, happy music and fun people. We've taken that same spirit and poured it into every dish, every cocktail and every late evening at our tables — a place to slip out of the night, settle in, and let the evening unfold around you.

Food
With over 40 years in contemporary restaurants and fine dining - and a life time enjoying the very best of authentic Chinese flavours, we have combined our food history to present Shanghai Clubs menu of fusion Chinese and Asian flavours and dishes, from innovative Spring Rolls and our own Peking style Duck to the best Wagyu steaks with Asian spices infused jus and XO butter, our food is a representation of all things simple, good and with no boundaries.
Every dish is built for the table — designed to be passed, shared and tried by everyone. Start light with Salt & Pepper Tofu or our Baby Cos San Choy Bao, work into Angus Tenderloin Skewers, Grilled King Prawns in XO butter, or the slow-braised Hong Shao Rou pork belly, and finish with a Hot Apple Rhubarb Spring Roll or a Ginger Brulee. Classic technique, modern confidence, and enough bold flavour to keep a table talking long after the plates are cleared.

Drinks
Asian infused signature Cocktails, Mocktails, the Classics, bespoke spirits. We have handcrafted a list of drinks for all to experience and enjoy. Our Wine list is modest in size, but representative of quality varietals both regional and international with a small museum selection for all who enjoy a bit of age. We have chosen Laurent Perrier as our house Champagne for quality and value. Try the wide range of food matching with our drinks offer… Can only be fun.
Behind the bar you'll find Japanese whiskies and shochus, Australian craft gins, aged cognacs and a little of everything in between — a range built to match the kitchen's reach. Our signature cocktails lean east, pulling yuzu, lychee and salted plum alongside familiar shapes, with the Smokey Plum Negroni a favourite for anyone who wants to see how we like to play. The wine list travels too — Clare Valley Rieslings, Barossa Shiraz and French classics from Chablis to the Rhône — with a few properly aged bottles in the museum selection for anyone after something with a bit of history in the glass. Whatever you're in the mood for, something on the list will find you — and if it doesn't, just ask.

Balcony Room
Our Balcony Room is a private area which is elevated on the first floor and over-looks a quiet leafy street out back. It can accommodate large groups of 8+ people, private dining from just 4 people up to 25+ people or stand up canapes for up to 30 or more.
A variety of food options from buffet style or set menus or canapes. Also beverage packages can be tailored to include cocktail or wine options for different budgets.
Ideal for large birthdays, celebrations or just dining for groups who wish to be in private.
The room carries the same warm, dimly lit feel as the rest of Shanghai Club, just with the extra quiet that comes from being tucked away on the first floor. The layout can be shaped to suit the night — long share tables, rounds for smaller groups, or open standing space when canapes are the go. Service comes from the same team that runs the main floor, so the food, the drinks and the pace all land the way they should.
Happy to work with you on the details — menus, drink packages, timing, anything specific to the occasion. A bit of notice helps us put the best version of the night together.
Please call Nic on 0487-389-855 to discuss possible options.
